Programming the Spaces–first expressions of interest

We launched a Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) in 2016 with the purpose of building a network of potential tenants and program providers who could help us determine what kinds of spaces and facilities are needed in the design of the project.

We sent the REOI to individual artists, arts group, community cultural group and arts/cultural and community organizations across the city. We received 32 responses (a great response!) that reaffirmed the vision for the Artscape Weston Hub.

This is what the respondents proposed to do/offer at the Hub:

  • 10 expressed an interest in becoming tenants
  • 32 expressed an interest in becoming program providers
  • Most respondents were interested in access to a programming space under 1,000 square feet in size
  • About half of respondents indicated a demand for a performance/rehearsal space; the other half indicated a demand for a flexible/classroom space
